Tornado Confirmed After Severe Storms Batter Northeast A fast-moving round of severe storms swept through the Northeast, spawning a rare tornado in New England and leaving a trail of downed trees, power outages, and canceled events in its wake. Two Tornadoes Touched Down In Virginia During Tropical Storm: National Weather Service The National Weather Service has confirmed that at least two tornados touched ground in Virginia as they continue to probe the damage done by Tropical Storm Debby.  Storms rolled through the region late last week, wreaking havoc in parts of the DMV region, including several areas in Virginia.
