With the DMV beginning to dig out after being battered by snow during the first major winter storm of 2025, the National Weather Service is providing final snowfall totals throughout the region. More than a foot fell in some remote parts of Maryland, while nearly every municipality in Virginia reported at least five inches of fresh powder that fell during the two-day storm. These Party City Stores To Shut Down In Maryland, Virginia Amid Massive Closure
Dozens of Party City locations in the DMV region are among the hundreds set to be closed as the company announced it is going out of business. Both Maryland and Virginia were hit hard by the reported closure, which will impact approximately 800 stores across the country. The National Weather Service confirmed seven tornados touched down in Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia on Wednesday, June 5 — six of them in the DMV alone. Reward Offered For Info After VA Teen Died At Hospital From Targeted Maryland Shooting: Police
A new $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the apprehension of a shooter who gunned down a 17-year-old Virginia native during what is believed to be a targeted attack in Maryland. Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, of Arlington, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Snowden River Parkway near Rustling Leaf in Columbia when he was shot and later died at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to investigators.
