Two Fredericksburg men are behind bars after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of guns, fentanyl, and marijuana—one of them even tried to make a run for it, but officers were quicker, authorities said.
Fredericksburg Police say an officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation, and what started as a standard stop quickly escalated when an investigation revealed the two occupants were illegally carrying firearms.
A search of the vehicle turned up a third loaded gun, fentanyl pills, marijuana, and evidence of drug distribution, officials said.
