In July, Tyus James Terrell was arrested following a lengthy search for his alleged role in the fatal shooting that left the 26-year-old Big Stone Gap resident with fatal injuries.

On Monday, Sept. 30, US Marshals located Woodbridge resident Keavon Teddrick Coleman, 27, in Alexandria, where he was taken into custody.

Shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, residents reported hearing multiple gunshots fired in the 3700 block of Wharf Lane in the Triangle neighborhood, with one person down.

Upon arrival, officers from the Prince William County Police Department found Smalls suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he died from his injuries after being rushed to an area hospital, according to a police spokesperson.

While investigating the shooting, police say that officers found shell casings in the road along Wharf Lane and near the Linden Park Apartment complex, which was also struck by a stray bullet.

It was not believed to have been a random act of violence.

Coleman, who police say was previously tied to the murder in July, was charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and robbery, officials said on Tuesday.

His court date was pending and bond information was unavailable.
