Prestigious MIT Physics Professor Shot, Killed In His Massachusetts Home A physics professor at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology was shot and killed inside his Brookline home, authorities said.  Brookline police responded to a report of a man shot at a home on Gibbs Street in the upscale Boston suburb around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
