Several middle schools in Virginia earned top marks and are among the best in the state, according to a new Niche report. A pair of minors were busted in Arlington County after being caught breaking into closed businesses overnight, police say. An officer on patrol shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 found a shattered glass door and two suspects inside a business in the 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard, leading to a pair of foot chases that ended with both in custody. Arlington County Animal Control was called to I-395 to remove a dead bear from the roadway over the weekend, authorities said. The bear was spotted near Exit 8C around 2:10 p.m. Saturday, June 15, Virginia State Police spokesman Matthew Demlein said. At 5:48 p.m., a passing motorist said he'd struck the bear but did not stop because he was feeling ill. He was not injured.
