The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its winter weather predictions for the 2024-25 season. This year's title speaks for itself: "The 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts a 'Calmer, Gentler' Winter." The National Weather Service has confirmed that at least two tornados touched ground in Virginia as they continue to probe the damage done by Tropical Storm Debby. Storms rolled through the region late last week, wreaking havoc in parts of the DMV region, including several areas in Virginia. A Tornado Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service as Tropical Storm Debby continues to batter the DMV region. Storms are expected to continue overnight, with upwards of four inches of rain possibly pouring in parts of the area, leading to increased risk of floods and "tropical downpours" as the storm continues to travel up the East Coast.
