One person was arrested and a second wanted man managed to flee following a police pursuit in Stafford County that ended in Fredericksburg earlier this week. Stafford resident Cash Phelix, 18, took deputies on a wild ride on Sunday night as they sought 19-year-old Tylor Asbury, who was wanted for felony eluding in King George County, officials say. A 41-year-old Virginia man who was arrested in 2022 and 2023 for DUI is now being charged for another, police said. Arquimides Gomez Mejia, of Woodbridge, was spotted by a Stafford County sheriff's deputy heading south on Richmond Highway near Arcadia Street around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, June 9, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. A 68-year-old Stafford man with seven prior DUIs was found drunk behind the wheel yet again, this time with an unrestrained child, authorities said. Homer Maxey had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to drinking 12-ounce beers just before the collision with a Fauquier County Ambulance on Warrenton and Poplar roads just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
