Maryland Man ID’d As Victim In Deadly Hit-Run On Virginia Highway, Police Say
A Maryland man was fatally struck while crossing a highway in Northern Virginia, and police are still working to identify the driver who fled the scene.
Timothy Scott Rinehart, 44, of Laurel, was killed early Thursday, June 5, while attempting to cross Lee Highway near Virginia Oaks Drive in Gainesville, according to the Prince William County Police Department on Monday, June 9.
Officers were called to the intersection around 1:57 a.m., where they found Rinehart dead at the scene. Police said the driver who hit him sped away.

A Northern Virginia pharmacy owner is facing criminal charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman inside his Gainesville store years ago, police said.
Davinder Pal Kahlon, 41, turned himself in to Prince William County Police on Wednesday, March 19, nearly four years after the reported assault.

A Northern Virginia man who allegedly abducted a woman and their young child before fleeing in her vehicle has been arrested weeks after the incident, authorities announced.
Naim Arrak, 26, was taken into custody on Thursday, March 13, in connection to a violent domestic dispute in Gainesville that led to a police pursuit, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
The charges stem from an incident on Friday, Feb. 14, when officers responded around 11:15 p.m. to a home in the 7400 block of Brunson Circle after a woman reported being assaulted by Arrak, police said.
