A death investigation has been launched in Virginia after a 58-year-old man's body was found in a wooded area in Manassas. Officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a stretch of the 8200 block of Sudley Road on Sunday night, where they were called to probe reports of a body that was located by a passerby. According to police, first responders found a 58-year-old man in a wooded area, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A body was pulled from the Rappahannock River in Virginia, authorities said. Deputies in Stafford County responded to the 100 block of Riverside Drive around 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, after someone reported seeing a body floating in the water, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Support is on the rise for a family of a 37-year-old man who drowned while swimming in the Shenandoah River over the weekend. The Page County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Melvin Sorto, and said he had been swimming when he became distressed around 4:05 p.m. Sunday, July 7.
