Months-Long Manhunt Ends As Fugitive Nabbed In DMV After Choking Woman, Gun Threat: Sheriff
A fugitive accused of choking a woman and pulling a gun on her has been caught after a months-long manhunt in Maryland, authorities announced.
Rome Delmar Watkins, 27, of Waldorf, was taken into custody on Tuesday, Sept. 16, after members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the US Marshals Service, and the US Park Police tracked him down.
Watkins had been wanted since April 20, when deputies said he assaulted a woman inside a Waldorf home after being asked to leave.

Two career criminals in their 60s are behind bars after a string of armed bank robberies terrorized employees in Montgomery County, authorities announced.
Alvin Chun, 64, and Ronald Wesley Johnson, 62 — both with no known address — have been charged in connection with three armed robberies that happened at banks in Kensington between February and March 2025, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police on Tuesday, June 10.
The first robbery happened on Saturday, Feb. 1, around 11:19 a.m., at the M&T Bank on the 10400 block of Montgomery Avenue.

Maryland Man Learns Fate In Deadly Maryland Drive-By Shooting That Killed Teen
A Maryland man will spend at least the next three decades behind bars for his role in a deadly drive-by shooting that killed a teenager in Montgomery County, prosecutors announced.
Kyler Mcroy, 22, of Gaithersburg, was sentenced to life in prison, with all but 30 years suspended, in connection to the 2022 shooting death of 19-year-old Keon Jones in Gaithersburg, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The sentence, handed down on Friday, May 9, also includes five years of supervised probation after Mcroy’s release.
