Spotsy Man Crashes Into Backyard After Missing Turn, Finds Trouble Instead: Sheriff
A Spotsylvania man ended up in a backyard instead of his destination after barreling straight through a T-intersection and off the road, authorities in Stafford County said.
John Woodyard, 27, was arrested early on Thursday, Feb. 13, after deputies say he traveled farther off-road, through a fence, and came to rest in an area yard.
The incident began around 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, when deputies responded to an auto accident on Woodford Drive, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said.

Carr, 21, was arrested after deputies responded to a reported assault on Ottinger Lane around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say Carr was involved in a verbal argument that turned physical when he used a taser on the victim, and before deputies arrived, Carr fled the scene.

Lemar Gerald Dawson, 45, of Locust Grove, was busted on Saturday, Feb. 8, after deputies tracked him to a hotel in Fredericksburg, during an investigation into a bank robbery, officials said.
Dawson’s downfall started just before 11:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, when he allegedly walked into the Truist Bank on Plank Road and demanded cash from an employee.

A wanted Virginia man was caught with drugs, ammunition, and a firearm after failing to register as a sex offender, police said.
Stafford resident Tommie Jones Jr., 40, was arrested over the weekend after officers spotted him leaving a business on William Street and recognized him as having an active arrest warrant, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
Before officers could approach, Jones jumped into a blue Cadillac and drove off, they said.

A Virginia man is behind bars after being arrested on multiple child sex abuse charges following an investigation by local authorities, officials announced.
Schuyler Choate, 26, was taken into custody on Thursday, Jan. 30, after detectives with the Child Victim Unit determined he had assaulted a child under the age of 13 at his home in the 8900 block of Crismond Lane, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
