: Maryland Hiker Hoisted To Safety By State Police Helicopter After 25-Foot Fall
A park visitor who plummeted 25 feet down a steep embankment in Charles County had to be hoisted to safety by a Maryland State Police helicopter crew, officials said. The Maryland State Police Aviation Command says Trooper 7, based in St. Mary’s County, was dispatched around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 to a remote wooded marsh area in Port Tobacco. 2 Airlifted After Pickup Truck Crash In DMV With 9 People On Board: Sheriff
Two people were airlifted to area trauma centers after a violent crash sent them flying from the back of a fully-loaded pickup truck in Maryland, authorities say. The single-vehicle rollover happened shortly before 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, in the area of Shaffers Mill Drive and Carriage Hill Road in Urbana, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies arrived to find a 1995 Ford F-150 that had been carrying nine people — four in the cab and five unsecured in the bed. Volunteer firefighters pulled a person from the Susquehanna River after they fell from the I-95 bridge in Harford County, officials confirmed. Emergency crews raced to the I-95 Millard Tydings Bridge in Harford County shortly before 2 p.m. after a person fell into the Susquehanna River on Thursday, April 10.
