Police ID District Man Killed During Labor Day Shooting In Maryland Near DC Border
New details have been released by the Montgomery County Department of Police following a deadly Labor Day shooting in Silver Spring. Officers were called at around 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 to the 8000 block of 13th Street in Silver Spring, where there was a reported shooting not far from the DC border. Police say that District resident Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer was found in an alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of the DMV region as wicked weather is expected to roll through the region, forecasters are cautioning. Following a sweltering day, the National Weather Service is advising that parts of DC, Maryland, and Virginia may be subject to storms that may bring whipping winds approaching 70 mph and ping pong-sized hail to some areas. With temperatures approaching and topping 100 degrees in some parts of the DMV, forecasters are cautioning that excessive heat could be making way for severe storms. Convict Caught With Codeine, Handgun Reported Stolen In DC During Stop In Maryland: Sheriff
What started as a routine traffic stop in Maryland rapidly snowballed for a Charles County convict who was caught with a host of drugs and an illegal handgun reported stolen out of DC, authorities announced. Robert Terrance Fletcher, 26, of Indian Head, is facing drug and weapon charges following an early morning stop on Tuesday morning when he was busted for multiple offenses.
