Officers were called at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning to the area of North Shore Drive and Charter Oak Court in Reston, where there was a reported crash with serious injuries.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the driver was rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A woman who was in the vehicle with him was also taken to the hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
Following the fatal crash, North Shore Drive was closed between Charter Oak Court and Sycamore Valley Drive for several hours before being reopened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 10.
No details about the crash or victims has been released by the department.
