The National Women's Soccer League will pay $5 million to compensate players who endured years of abuse and harassment.
The landmark NWSL settlement was announced by the attorneys general of New York, Illinois, and Washington, DC, on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The agreement follows investigations into claims of widespread misconduct, including emotional abuse, sexual coercion, and systemic failures that left players unprotected.

$40K In Eggs Stolen From Distribution Trailer: Police
Amid the avian flu outbreak, authorities are investigating the theft of "high-value goods" from a Pennsylvania business, State Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Approximately 100,000 organic eggs, valued at $40,000, were stolen from a distribution trailer at Pete and Gerry's Organics in Antrim Township, according to PSP Chambersburg.
The theft occurred sometime overnight on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Commerce Avenue facility, troopers detailed in the release.

A Montgomery County Transit Services employee is facing multiple charges after allegedly strangling and assaulting a pregnant woman before throwing her to the ground outside a Ride On bus, police said.
Paul Simms, 36, of Laurel, turned himself in on Tuesday, Feb. 4, after police obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
The violent altercation unfolded the night before, on Monday, Feb. 3, when officers and emergency personnel responded to the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase for a reported assault.
