Officer Stabbed While Responding To Suspicious Person In Virginia (Developing) A Fairfax County police officer was stabbed while responding to a suspicious person call in Fair Lakes, prompting a major investigation, authorities said. The incident happened in the 12800 block of Fair Lakes Parkway on Monday, Feb. 3, when officers were dispatched to the area.  While on the scene, one officer was stabbed by a suspect, according to Fairfax County Police. Dump Truck Crash Temporarily Shuts Down Route 50 In Virginia: Police Route 50 was shut down for approximately an hour in Fairfax County on Monday morning when a dump truck driver crashed and took down some power lines.  At around 6 a.m. on Oct. 7, officers were called to assist at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the usually-busy roadway near Fair Ridge Drive in Fair Lakes.  The crash resulted in Route 50 being closed in both directions on Monday morning while crews made repairs, resulting in major delays and temporary traffic backups until the scene could be cleared.
