Maryland Resident Escapes House Blaze Through Window As Four Pets Perish, Fire Marshal Says A Maryland family lost their home and four pets after an accidental electrical fire tore through a Federalsburg house on Wednesday, according to the Maryland Fire Marshal. The fire broke out around 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 19, at a one-story, wood-frame home on Webster Street in Dorchester County.  Officials said one of the residents was home when smoke alarms went off and they had to escape through a bedroom window.
