Several northbound lanes of the interstate were closed near the 164.4 mile marker at around 1:30 p.m., where there were two vehicles on the side of the road, causing traffic for miles.
The north left shoulder, left lane, left center lane, and right shoulder are closed as of 1:37 p.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
No details about the crash were released.
