A 57-year-old Virginia man has been arrested for assaulting law enforcement at the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, federal officials said.
David A. Marshall, Jr., of, Alexandria, identified by a former co-worker, assaulted law enforcement officers and a member of the news media, shoving and yanking the journalist down a set of stairs, and assisted other rioters in seizing police equipment, court papers say.

A 38-year-old man with ties to Virginia has been arrested for generating and possessing child pornography, police said.
Jason Robert Fragale, of Leesburg, VA and Kissimmee, FL, was arrested in February at a Florida airport, in an apparent attempt to flee the country, Virginia State Police said in a joint release with officials in Florida.
He had been charged with 10 felony warrants out of Loudoun County: Five for possession of child porn and five for reproduction of child porn,

Sixteen nonviolent drug offenders were granted clemency by President Joe Biden, including two with ties to Virginia and one from Washington DC.
