A three-alarm fire destroyed the T-Shirt Factory and a firefighter was hospitalized with burns on Tuesday, July 11 in Virginia Beach. Fire crews were dispatched to the 2600 Block of Atlantic Avenue around 5:15 p.m., where they were met by heavy smoke coming from the factory. More than 75 firefighters responded to the three-alarm commercial structure. The fire quickly spread to two adjoining businesses: the Maple Tree Pancake & Waffle House, and King of the Sea Restaurant. All hands were on deck on Sunday afternoon as the US Coast Guard came to the aid of a family whose boat was taking on water in Virginia. 12-Year-Old Boy Among Two Drowned Off Virginia Beach
A 12-year-old boy and an unidentified male drowned in the Virginia Beach waters Fourth of July weekend, Pilot Online reports. Zamari Wilson was visiting family for the holiday weekend and last seen swimming near the Delta Marriott on Shore Drive around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 3, the paper said.
