Two years after their first kiss lit up the Jumbotron at the US Open, and four years after their first date at the Grand Slam event, a New Jersey couple returned to the same seats.
And this time, the guy had a ring.
Brett Kraft, 39, who grew up in New Providence, proposed to his fiancée Sophia Fredriksson, 27, a native of Sweden, during the Friday, Aug. 29 match between Aryna Sabalenka and Leylah Fernandez at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens.
Kraft, who lives in Madison with Fredriksson, had been quietly planning the proposal for months.

Taylor Swift fans are hoping "Karma" comes to whoever scammed them out of expensive tickets to The Eras Tour.
Two people were accused of stealing nearly 1,000 tickets to high-demand events, including the popstar's record-breaking concert tour. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced arrests in the case in a news release on Monday, Mar. 3.
Tyrone Rose, 20, of Kingston, Jamaica, and Shamara Simmons, 31, of Queens, NY, were facing charges including grand larceny, conspiracy, and computer tampering.

Frances Tiafoe's 2023 US Open run ended in an upset on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
For Ben Shelton, though, it's only just begun.
Tiafoe, who is ranked No. 10 in the world, fell to 20-year-old Shelton in the quarterfinals 6-2 3-6 7-6(7) 6-2, in Queens, NY.
