Undercover Prostitution Bust Nets 5 Arrests At 2 Hotels Virginia: Sheriff
Fugitives were among five people arrested in an undercover prostitution sting at two motels in Stafford County this week, authorities said. Stafford County Sheriff's Detective RJ Grella met a woman online on Dec. 12, and met up with her at the Staybridge Suites on Richmond Highway after a brief text exchange, Sheriff David Decatur said. Grella and patrol deputies made contact with the woman and found drugs in the room, Decatur said. A 36-year-old Stafford mom was drunk when she crashed her car into a ditch with her child improperly secured, police said. Danielle Penberthy tried leaving the scene at Clore Drive around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, after having called a tow truck, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. What started as a verbal domestic dispute in Prince William County turned physical when a man kicked and attempted to bite intervening officers. Members of the Prince William County Police Department were called to the Westgate Apartment complex in the 8000 block of Ashland Avenue over the weekend in Manassas to investigate an incident involving Stafford resident James Russell Bennett II and at least one other person inside the home. No Christmas season from the 1980s through the 2000s was ever complete for the Silvrants family without a trip to Ho Ho Ho Land in Fredericksburg. The Cranes Corner Road homeowner, an auto mechanic, hung thousands of Christmas lights, played music, and made dozens of his own moving, wooden cutouts (see video here). A juvenile was jailed after leading a high-speed police pursuit then crashing during a joyride in a family member's vehicle, authorities in Stafford said. Deputy D.S. Jett was on Cambridge Street when he saw a vehicle traveling 63 MPH in a 35 MPH zone around 11:40 p.m. on Nov. 10, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. JAM: Fiery Tractor Trailer Crash Shuts I-95 In Stafford
Several miles of delays were reported along I-95 in Stafford on Friday, Nov. 10 due to a fiery tractor trailer crash. According to Virginia State Police, the tractor trailer was heading north when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail attenuator around 3:40 a.m., near milepost 137.8. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to catch fire. There were no reported injuries, however, all northbound travel lanes except for the left lane were closed as of 6:30 a.m.

Police in Stafford have released some new details in a fight that sent a high school student to the hospital via helicopter. The incident Wednesday, Nov. 8 began around 9:25 a.m. in the gym of Stafford High School as two students were arguing about a previous incident, the sheriff's office said. A man who tried to burglarize a Stafford business was arrested in the same clothes he wore to the scene, police said. Surveillance footage showed a man alter identified as Saddam Rafat, 23, trying to open the door of Neighbor Mart on 2983 Richmond Highway, around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. A Northern Virginia man has been arrested on child porn charges, police said. Police were called to Canal Road in Dumfries on Friday, Nov. 3, for a child porn investigation, Prince William County police said. There, they found Richard Lee Sauter of Stafford, who had child pornography on his cell phone, police said. Electronic devices were subsequently seized from his home.
