18-Year-Old Inmate Found Dead In Virginia Cell: Police
An 18-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell prompting a death investigation at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, police said. Juan Felipe Mejia Campos of Alexandria was found unresponsive Thursday morning, March 28, county police said. Aid was rendered, however, Campos died at the scene, police said. There were no signs of foul play. The death appears medical or narcotic-related. The investigation continues. Two brothers have been arrested after one reported a fake hostage situation that placed a Stafford school on lockdown earlier this week, authorities said. Police have identified a suspect in a deadly shooting at a Virginia night club over the weekend. Jonathan Montile Middleton, 37, of Stafford, is wanted for murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the shooting death of Carvell Jarmain Williams, 38, of Warrenton, at Club Tempo in Dumfries, Prince William County police said. A 32-year-old Stafford man left a path of destruction in a drunk driving accident over the weekend, police said. Steven Bates tossed a backpack out of a vehicle after crashing it into a ditch on Clarion Drive and Ferry Road around 2:05 a.m. Saturday, March 16, the county sheriff said. A trio of fugitives were arrested and additionally charged with drug offenses when police found them in a Stafford home over the weekend. The Stafford County Sheriff's Special Problems Unit saw 41-year-old Earnest Scruggs, and 35-year-old Justin House, in a home with Jeffery Roles, 32, all of Stafford, on the 900 block of Truslow Road around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, March 15, the sheriff's office said. Motorcyclist Killed On Stafford Road ID'd As 57-Year-Old Man
Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a Stafford crash Thursday, March 14. Michael Pickeral was heading east on Joshua Road when he was struck by a westbound driver that swerved into oncoming traffic just after 5:15 p.m., the sheriff's office said. Pickeral was hit head-on near Greenleaf Terrace. Deputies, Fire and Rescue staff, and a witness all attempted to perform life-saving measures on the motorcyclist. A driver was rescued from her vehicle after a crash, but she insisted no crash had happened at all, authorities in Stafford said.
