Gunman Sought For Murder In Northern VA Killing: Police
A 39-year-old man is being sought for murder days after a Northern Virginia killing, police announced.
Juan Zacarias, of Manassas, is believed to have killed Freddy Orozco Lopez, 34, of Manassas Park, on the 100 block of Polk Drive around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, June 23, Manassas Park police said.
Lopez died at the scene and Zacarias, who knew his victim, fled the scene. He is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately.

A Virginia Beach man this week learned his punishment for the 2019 killing of his wife.
Brandon Wyatt Wysong, 34, was sentenced to 45 years in state prison with 15 suspended (leaving 30 years to serve) for the Nov. 4, 2019 shooting death of his wife, Elena Wysong, according to Colin D. Stolle, the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney.

A Virginia man who was found naked and covered in blood after dragging his victim’s dead body out of his own Washington, DC apartment in 2019 has admitted to his crime, authorities said.
Collin Potter, 30, of Quantico, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed for the butchering of Vongell Lugo on Jan. 6, 2019, in which Potter stabbed his victim 42 times, federal officials said. A Washington, DC Parks and Recreation employee has been charged with the murder of 13-year-old Karon Blake earlier this month, Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee III announced.

A 23-year-old Woodbridge man has turned himself in following a fatal shooting on New Year’s Eve in Fairfax County.
Woodbridge resident Robert Williams Peters, Jr. surrendered to police late on Tuesday, Jan. 3 following an investigation into the murder of Nahom Beyene, 42, on Saturday, Dec. 31 in Lorton, according to authorities.
