Two people have died in a stabbing-turned officer-involved shooting in Prince William County Tuesday, Feb. 13, authorities said. Police were called to a home on the 7000 block of Infantry Road in Manassas around 3:30 p.m., where two people had been stabbed, county police said. Officers opened fire, killing the knife-wielding man near the front entrance of the building, whose identity had not been released as of press time. Chaos ensued for police who broke up what they called a “reckless driving meet-up” in Montgomery County over the weekend. The Takoma Park Police Department arrived to investigate the meet-up at the intersection of New Hampshire and Ethan Allen Avenues around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 and saw several vehicles doing burnouts, donuts, and other dangerous maneuvers surrounded by a large crowd. Man Shot At Hilton Hotel In Alexandria: Report
A man was shot Monday night, Jan. 22 at a Hilton hotel in Alexandria, NBC Washington reports. It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center on Seminary Road, the outlet said. The man was hospitalized with serious injuries and a suspect was in custody, according to NBC. There is a moderate police presence in the 5000 block of Seminary Rd. for a weapon violation. A homeless man who stole a car then burglarized two homes has been arrested in Loudoun County, police said. A man later identified as Allen Goins, 42, stole a car left running from a home on the 100 block of Lawson Road SE in Leesburg around 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, local police said. Animal lovers in DC are breathing a sigh of relief after a bomb threat called into the National Zoo was deemed to be unfounded on Tuesday afternoon. The Zoo was evacuated at approximately 12:30 p.m. and closed on Aug. 29 after there was a reported threat emailed to officials, prompting an extensive investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department. Nearly $50,000 in damages were caused by a tractor trailer crash that took down live wires in Stafford Monday, Aug. 28, authorities said. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at Admiral Drive and Wilson Cove in Aquia Harbour. when the tractor trailer struck a power line, causing damage to the poles. A 63-year-old Stafford man was jailed after a rent dispute and accidental gun firing causing a standoff this week, authorities said. Glenn Conner and the victim were arguing in a home on the 500 block of Ferry Road Thursday, Aug. 3, around noon, when Conner got a gun and brandished it toward the victim, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. Charges are pending against a driver who took police in Loudoun County on a pursuit that led to at least four people being injured on Saturday afternoon.
