Cops Dismantle $27K Fairfax County Theft Ring Run By Out-Of-State Crew, Authorities Say
Three people have been arrested in a four-month stealing spree at a Fairfax County mall — none of whom area from the area, police said.
Oscar William Laverde Laverde, 56, of New York, and Sindia Noguera, 43, of New Jersey, are both in custody, while Claudia Suarez, 45, of New York, remains at large, county police said. Online records show Noguera is from Elizabeth, NJ.
The trio are accused of swiping $27,000 in merchandise from stores at the Fair Oaks Mall and along the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in Tysons, according to police.

A trio of fraudsters from New York were busted after trying to make a $21,000 purchase with a stolen credit card at a Louis Vuitton store, authorities said.
Jamine Decambra, 28, Darnel Eric Davis 33, and Marcia Jenelle Lewis, were charged with various counts of fraud following the incident Thursday, Sept. 14, Fairfax County police said.
Tysons Urban Team detectives were contacted at 3:45 p.m. by the Louis Vuitton store saying two men, later identified as Decambra and Davis, trying to make a $21,000 purchase with a stolen credit card, police said.

Cold CASE: NY Man Confesses To Grisly 1994 Virginia Murder, Police Say
A 51-year-old New York man has been arrested in a Virginia homicide, cracking a 29-year cold case, authorities announced.
Stephen Smerk, of Niskayuna, NY, is facing second-degree murder in the Nov. 20, 1994 death of 37-year-old Robin Lawrence, who was found dead in a Springfield, VA home, Fairfax County police said.
Smerk is believed to have stabbed Lawrence inside of her Reseca Lane home, when he was 22 years old, authorities said.
