Firefighters Injured Battling Blaze On Loudoun County Porch
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a house fire on Thursday morning in Virginia, officials say. Loudoun County Fire and Rescue crews were called to a reported structure fire in the 200 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg at approximately 11 a.m. on July 11. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with smoke showing and fire on the porch, which was quickly extinguished by first responders. Students and staff at a Virginia high school were temporarily out in the cold on Tuesday morning after a precautionary evacuation. Loudoun County High School was evacuated shortly after 9 a.m. on Jan. 30 due to the reported presence of the odor of gas throughout parts of the building, according to police. Some travelers were left in a lurch at the Leesburg Executive Airport on Sunday morning when a fire left several planes damaged on the tarmac, officials say. A pedestrian was hospitalized overnight after being struck by a driver while he attempted to cross a busy Virginia intersection in Leesburg.
