'Wild Go-Getter:' 25-Year-Old Killed In Fauquier County Crash
Virginia State Police have identified the victim of a Fauquier County crash this week as a 25-year-old man.
Chandler P. Povlsen, of Bealeton, was was heading south on Balls Mill Road near Rockdale Lane in Midland, in a 1994 Ford Ranger, when he crossed over the double solid yellow centerline around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, VSP said.
Povlsen ran off the left side of the roadway, and collided with several trees. He was taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he later died, police said.
Povlsen was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

This Virginia Hospital Has 4th Busiest Emergency Room In America, Report Says
Two DMV hospitals have some of the busiest emergency rooms in the nation, according to a new report by Becker's Hospital Review.
The list was comprised using data reported by the hospitals themselves, and reflect data from 2022, though start and end dates vary by hospital.
While the Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, TX reported the highest number of visits (226,178), Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church reported 162,335 visits, the report says.
Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD, reported 96,476 visits, coming in at No. 44 on the list.

Police ID Motorcyclist, 35, Killed In I-66 Crash
Police have identified the 35-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Interstate 66 over the weekend.
Cody P. Riley, 36, of Owens Cross Roads, AL, was riding east at an excessive rate of speed on a 2018 Yamaha FZ09, when he lost control around 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Virginia State Police said.
Riley was thrown from the vehicle in the express lanes at the 60 mile marker. His bike came to rest on the left shoulder.
Riley, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he died that day.

Arlington Teacher Recovering From Stroke Sees Surge Of Support
Support is on the rise for an Arlington teacher recovering after having suffered a stroke.
Jill Eskenas, who teaches second grade at Randolph, began her day as usual Tuesday, April 18, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched for her.
That evening, Jill called a friend complaining of a headache and intense neck pain. Tragically, Jill suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, at just 39 years old, without warning, the campaign says.

Support was surging for a Prince William County family after its matriarch suffered a stroke at just 36 years old.
More than $25,800 had been raised as of Monday, Dec. 5 on a GoFundMe for Courtney Waters' family. According to her Facebook page, Courtney lives in Bristow with her husband, Kevin. They have three children, Colton (7), Kendall (4) and Carly (2).

Two Dead In I-495 Crash Weren't Wearing Seatbelts: Police
Two unbelted men died and a woman was in critical condition following a head-on crash on Interstate 495 on Tuesday, May 17, authorities said.
A Mazda 3 collided with a Buick Encore near the Chain Bridge Road exit in Fairfax, causing the Buick to burst into flames after the impact, Virginia State Police said.
The Buick driver, Patrick Mullins, 32, of Catlett, Va., and Kaan Karabekir, 28, of Bethesda, Md., who was behind the wheel of the Mazda, died at the scene. Neither were wearing a seatbelt.
