Virginia Man Threatens Mother In Cigarette Demand, Arrested At Hospital: Sheriff More than ghosts are haunting Stafford resident Dominique Cooke.  The 25-year-old found himself in trouble with the law not once, but twice this week after a strange situation played out on Sunday night that only got stranger the following morning after he was hospitalized.  Cooke was the subject of a disturbance call at around 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 17 on Ferry Road, when he contacted the Stafford County Sheriff's Office about people who have been chasing him for two days straight. Man Wanted In Fredericksburg, Spotsy, Busted With Meth During Stafford Stop, Sheriff Says A Virginia man already wanted in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania counties tried to break bad and was busted with methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Stafford over the weekend, officials say. Locust Grove resident Thomas Chaffin, 30, who is no stranger to police, is back behind bars after drugs were discovered following the stop late on Saturday afternoon.  According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, shortly after 7:20 p.m. on July 13, a sergeant spotted Chaffin and conducted a traffic stop at McDonald's on Ferry Road, which were the beginning of the wanted man's concerns. …

Steven Bates tossed a backpack out of a vehicle after crashing it into a ditch on Clarion Drive and Ferry Road around 2:05 a.m. Saturday, March 16, the county sheriff said.  When deputies arrived, they found the Ford still in the ditch with the driver calmly smoking next to it, police said. Rent Dispute Ends In Standoff With Armed Suspect In Stafford County: Sheriff A 63-year-old Stafford man was jailed after a rent dispute and accidental gun firing causing a standoff this week, authorities said. Glenn Conner and the victim were arguing in a home on the 500 block of Ferry Road Thursday, Aug. 3, around noon, when Conner got a gun and brandished it toward the victim, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said.
