UMES Student From DC Critically Injured In Head-On Wrong-Way Crash: Police
Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) students were killed, and two others suffered critical injuries after being struck head-on by a suspected intoxicated wrong-way driver in Delaware. Delaware State Police identified 22-year-old Eric Staley, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania resident Makayla Belton, 18, as the two who were killed in a fatal crash on Sunday in Seaford involving a Honda Pilot and Nissan Rogue. Maryland Filmmakers Killed In I-95 Crash Returning From Philadelphia Production
A pair of young filmmakers from the Baltimore area were killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Delaware while returning from a production in Philadelphia, according to news reports and those who knew them. Martin Whittier, 37, and Nate Brubaker, 27, were heading south in a 2020 BMW M2 when the car became disabled in the middle lane of the highway around 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 in Newark, DE, according to Delaware State Police and the pair's associates. Maryland Man Killed While Being Kicked Out Of Lyft Was Former Cuomo Staffer
A Maryland man who was struck and killed by a car after being ordered out of a Lyft in Delaware over the weekend has been identified as one of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo's previous staffers. An argument broke out in the back of the car that Sid Wolf, 43, was riding in, and the Lyft driver stopped the car in the middle of the southbound lane on Coast Highway in Delaware, and demanded all six passengers get out around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, July 24, authorities said. Virginia Man Dies In Delaware Tractor Trailer Crash: State Police
A Virginia man died in a car with a tractor-trailer on Wednesday, April 27, according to Delaware State Police. The collision occurred at the Seashore Highway and Scotts Store Road intersection in Bridgeville, Delaware at at 1:52 p.m., which resulted in the death of an 80-year-old Alexandria man, police say.
