Police ID Woman Killed, Murder Suspect In DC Stabbing
A 45-year-old from D.C. was arrested on Thursday, August 25, for the murder of another D.C. resident, officials said.
On August 14, just before 10 p.m., police responded to the scene in the 3900 block of 4th Street and discovered a female victim suffering from stab wounds inside a home, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Cynthia Stewart, 41, showing no signs of life, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said they arrested Alexis Hawkins, 45, for second degree murder while armed.
DC Man Admits To Posing As Young Girl To Exploit 10-Year-Old Child: DOJ
A man from D.C. pled guilty to the sexual exploitation of a young child, officials said.
Christopher Young, 31, pretended to be a young girl and reached out to a 10-year-old in June 2019 to exploit her, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Young blackmailed the young girl as a way to sexually abuse her, and told her that if she did not engage in sexual acts with him, he would send embarrassing pictures of the victim to her family, officials said.
Law enforcement discovered pictures of Young's sexual abuse, that he took, on his email account, authorities said.

Four Robberies Later, DC 18-Year-Old Arrested For His Crimes
Police have arrested an 18-year-old from D.C. for multiple robberies, officials said.At around 4 a.m. on June 13, Julio Villafranco approached a victim, at 4th and Irving Street, wielding a knife and as he demanded their property, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim did not hand their property over and fled the suspect, police said.
At around 4 a.m. on August 23, two suspects, including Villafranco, stole a victim's property and made them withdraw money from an ATM in the 3200 block of 14th Street, authorities reported.

Three Men Arrested In Recent DC Shooting: Police
Three men were arrested in a non-fatal shooting in D.C., police said.
On August 24, at around 7:20 p.m., officers responded to the scene on Quincy Place, to find two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Another male victim arrived at a local hospital, and all three victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities reported.
At the scene, five firearms were recovered and Kharee Jackson, 29, Pernell Jackson, 36, and Charles Turner, 35, were arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, police said.

A man from D.C. was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for an armed bank robbery he committed back in 2021, authorities said.Amobi Agu, 37, is no stranger to the law, as he allegedly committed seven other armed bank robberies between 2007 and 2008, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Agu served time for those crimes, from 2008 to 2020, officials reported.
In January of 2021, Agu robbed the Bank of America located in Dulles Crossing Plaza, where he threatened a bank teller and unarmed security guard with his gun, law enforcement said.

New Information Released By Police In Maryland On Suspect Wanted For Killing DC Man
A man charged with the murder of a DC man is on the run, and police are asking for the public's help in locating him, authorities say.
Randy McFail, 32, is accused of killing Robert Earl Price, 22, earlier this month in Capitol Heights, Prince George's County police say.
Price was found suffering from a fatal gunshot wound in the 4100 block of Southern Avenue around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, officials said.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
