A 56-year-old man was forced to shoot a dog that got loose and went after him while he was walking his own pet in Prince William County over the weekend, police say. Officers were called on Saturday, Oct. 19 to a neighborhood in Manassas when the man and other family members were walking their dogs and were accosted by a pit bull that broke free from a nearby home. The incident was reported at around 10:45 a.m. in the 10700 block of Balls Ford Road. Two Virginia middle schoolers are expected to be charged after officials found an unloaded flare gun and a BB gun in their belongings. Acting on a tip that a student was possibly carrying a weapon at Smart's Mill Middle School in Leesburg Tuesday morning, Nov. 14, Loudoun County Public School officials conducted a search, local police said. A Virginia man is being sought by police after giving officers a fake name in an armed robbery last month, authorities said. Lawrence Dawntai Johnson told Prince William County police his name was Raquelle Darris Johnson while being arrested on Thursday, Aug. 25 for a knifepoint robbery at the Potomac Inn in Woodbridge, PWC police said.
