Jerrell Joseph Blakey Jr., 22, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged over the weekend with attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Prince William County police said.

Investigators said Blakey, Wilson Doswell IV, and Sirr Morris-Helms traded shots on June 17, 2021, at the Riverwood Apartments on Yosocomico Lane in Woodbridge. One of the bullets went through the wall of the apartment and grazed a 9-year-old girl in her home, police said. Responders treated her on the scene for minor injuries.

Officials charged Blakey with attempted malicious wounding and using a firearm to commit a felony, an incident report said. Police did not release any information on his bond, and Blakey does not appear on a list of current inmates at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Investigators had identified Blakey as the third and final person involved in the shooting last year, but they couldn't locate him until recently, officers said.

U.S. Marshals arrested Doswell and Morris-Helms last summer during a traffic stop in Dumfries, a report said.
