Employees and patrons of the Montclair Family Restaurant were fighting at around 4 p.m., when one employee called his acquaintance, 33-year-old Joshua Fitzpatrick, to assist him in this dispute, Prince William County Police reported.
Once Fitzpatrick arrived and confronted the individuals involved, one patron, 38-year-old Timothy Nolton, hacked Fitzpatrick with a machete, officials said.
Moments later, a separate fight broke out in the lot between an employee and a woman, 38, who came to the restaurant with Nolton, police said. Fitzpatrick went over to that fight and hit the woman with a hammer, officials reported.
After the parties were separated and police investigated the scene, both Nolton and Fitzpatrick were arrested, police said.
Nolton was charged with malicious wounding, is being held without bond, and has a pending court date. Fitzpatrick was charged with unlawful wounding, has a pending court date, and no available bond information.
