Caretaker Accused Of Raping, Sodomizing Prepubescent Girl In Virginia: Police

A Virginia man is facing multiple charges after being accused of sexually abusing a prepubescent victim in his care repeatedly over the course of more than a year, according to police investigators.

Irvin Francisco Garcia Portillo, 32, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with one count of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy for incidents in the Manassas area of Prince William County, officials announced on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The alleged incidents were reported between January 2021 and August 2022.

Investigators say that during that time, Garcia Portillo’s victim, who was under the age of 13 at the time, was sexually assaulted by him while he was tasked with taking care of her. There was more than one incident reported during that time, according to police.

The underage victim reported the sexual assault to a family member, who contacted the police, leading to Garcia Portillo’s arrest.

Garcia Portillo’s next court date is pending. His bond information was unavailable on Wednesday afternoon.
