The man and a friend had gone to the Cheshire Station Plaza around 2 p.m. to meet up with some other people, Prince William County police said. During that meeting, the others opened fire on them, striking the 19-year-old multiple times before they drove away, police said.
Witnesses and police gave the man first aid until paramedics could arrive and whisk him to a nearby hospital where doctors are treating him for life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police do not believe the shooting is random.
