Investigators say the car that fled the scene is believed to be a dark-colored 2018–2025 Toyota Camry, which should have damage to the front left bumper and fender, according to an update from Master Police Officer Renee Carr on Wednesday, March 26.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. on March 20, near Richmond Highway and Easy Street, when 53-year-old Miles Jonathan Moore, of Woodbridge, was struck twice while trying to cross the road outside of a crosswalk.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, the first car to hit Moore — a 2012 Toyota Highlander — remained at the scene. The second vehicle kept going.

Moore was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Now, police are asking the public for help identifying the second driver or anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit.

The investigation is ongoing.
