Christopher Tyler Rose was apprehended on Monday morning by officers amid an investigation into the fatal shootings of 56-year-old Brian Christopher Rose and a 1-year-old Labrador retriever.
Members of the Prince William County Police Department were called shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 to a home in the 2500 block of Paxton Street in Woodbridge, when a friend of the family contact the agency about a possible shooting in the area.
Responding officers found the younger Rose at the home, and he was detained without incident.
Investigators say that Rose allegedly shot and killed his father, and the dog, during an altercation in the home they shared in Woodbridge.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was home at the time of the shootings.
Rose was charged with:
- Murder;
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony;
- Felony animal cruelty.
He's being held without bond pending his next court appearance.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. More information is expected to be released.
