The crash involving a Jeep Cherokee and tractor trailer happened on the westbound side around 7:45 a.m., Virginia State Police said.
The Virginia DOT site reported nearly 2.6 miles of delays in the westbound lanes following the crash in Sudley near mile post 49.
The west right center lane, right lane, and right shoulder were closed. Traffic delays in the eastbound lanes are approximately 4 miles.
