Albert Trayvon Smith, 29, is facing several criminal charges after he was caught on campus at Potomac High School at a non-school-related football game late in the afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 18, according to police.
The Virginia Beach resident was caught by off-duty officers who were working security at the game.
According to police, while checking bags at the entrance of the football stadium, they found a gun inside Smith's belongings, and he was denied entry to the facility. He then got into a car and attempted to leave the parking lot, but not before police were advised and responded to stop him on Panther Pride Drive.
Smith was arrested without incident and charged with three counts of possession of a weapon on school grounds and carrying a concealed weapon.
He is being held without bond and his next court appearance is pending.
