The US population is rapidly diversifying, with cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic at the forefront, according to a new study.
WalletHub released its 2025 ranking of the nation's Most Diverse Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Three Maryland communities topped the list of 501 locations, which were evaluated based on socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, and religious diversity.

A fare evasion stop at the Pentagon City Metro Station escalated into a chaotic scene when a knife-wielding man resisted arrest, assaulted officers, and spat on them, according to Arlington police.
On Wednesday afternoon, Arlington resident Vincent Trice, 45, was spotted by an officer working a crime prevention detail at the station as he attempted to evade paying for a fare, authorities said.
