The National Weather Service issued alerts on March 16 as meteorologists prepare for another round of storms that could cause chaos in the DMV region.

According to officials, a couple of tornadoes are possible, as well as hail the size of a quarter and winds approaching 70 mph in parts of the area.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," officials said. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution."

Storms have been devastating parts of the US, bringing tornadoes and severe weather that has led to dozens of deaths, according to AccuWeather.

More than an inch of rain is expected for some areas in the region, specifically along the I-95 corridor.
