East Coast Couples Have Expensive Expectations: How Much Should You Spend On Wedding Gifts?
Newlywed couples in Northeast and mid-Atlantic states expect some of the most generous wedding gifts in the country, a new study said. Couples in New York expect the most expensive gifts in the U.S. at an average of $204.60 per guest, according to the study by fine jewelry brand Shane Co. The survey, based on responses from more than 3,000 Americans, also highlights regional trends in gift expectations, budgets, and wedding traditions. Smash-And-Grab: Suspects Shatter Virginia Jewelry Store Front, Flee With Loot, Police Say
A high-end jewelry store in Leesburg became the target of a smash-and-grab burglary early Tuesday morning, leaving investigators searching for three suspects who shattered the store’s front window and made off with stolen goods. At approximately 1:33 a.m. on Nov. 19, police say that officers responded to White & Ivory Fine Jewelry, on Village Market Boulevard SE, for reports of a burglary. A violent armed robbery in Arlington is under investigation after four men targeted a pair who were walking toward an area business on Sunday morning, police say.
