A would-be victim was able to fight off a potential sexual assault when a man broke into a Reston apartment early on Wednesday morning, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. The 41-year-old Virginia man who assaulted and burglarized his pregnant ex-wife's home in Northwest DC has been sentenced to prison time, federal authorities announced on Wednesday. James Miller was sentenced on July 3 to five years in prison for burglary, simple assault, and destruction of property in a break-in that took place in the middle of the night last fall.
