Maryland Toddler Killed In DC Had 'Short, Meaningful Life," Family Says
A devastated family in Maryland is reeling and seeking answers after a beloved toddler was killed in DC. Late on Saturday, 1-year-old Upper Marlboro native Journee Moore was the subject of an emergency call in Northwest DC after going into cardiac arrest. According to police, officers were called at around 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 28 to a home in the 3700 block of Connecticut Avenue NW, where they found the 1-year-old suffering from critical injuries. Police ID District Man Killed During Labor Day Shooting In Maryland Near DC Border
New details have been released by the Montgomery County Department of Police following a deadly Labor Day shooting in Silver Spring. Officers were called at around 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 to the 8000 block of 13th Street in Silver Spring, where there was a reported shooting not far from the DC border. Police say that District resident Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer was found in an alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of the DMV region as wicked weather is expected to roll through the region, forecasters are cautioning. With temperatures approaching and topping 100 degrees in some parts of the DMV, forecasters are cautioning that excessive heat could be making way for severe storms.
