On Thursday, Jan. 11 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sergeant M.E. Gordon, Deputy D.S. Jett, and Deputy M.A. Holub responded to Plantation Drive and Newcastle Place for a crash, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found a vehicle overturned in a ditch. Its occupants were able to exit the car with minor injuries, deputies said.
The 18-year-old driver tossed a bag into a nearby flower bed, deputies said. The bag was recovered with empty cans of alcoholic beverages, they said.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence, driving after illegally consuming alcohol, unlawful possession of tobacco, driving without a driver’s license, and reckless driving, deputies said. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober, they said.
Her 19-year-old passenger allegedly provided false identities, deputies said.
The passenger was charged with identity theft and falsely identifying herself to law enforcement, deputies said. She was being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond, they said.
