Dump Truck Crash Temporarily Shuts Down Route 50 In Virginia: Police Route 50 was shut down for approximately an hour in Fairfax County on Monday morning when a dump truck driver crashed and took down some power lines.  At around 6 a.m. on Oct. 7, officers were called to assist at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the usually-busy roadway near Fair Ridge Drive in Fair Lakes.  The crash resulted in Route 50 being closed in both directions on Monday morning while crews made repairs, resulting in major delays and temporary traffic backups until the scene could be cleared. Overturned Truck, Debris Spill Causes Delays On I-95 In Virginia Traffic was tied up on Tuesday when an overturned dump truck spilled debris on I-95 in Spotsylvania, according to the Virginia DOT.  An alert was issued by VDOT Fredericksburg at around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 3 advising that some southbound lanes of the interstate were blocked by a crash in the area of exit 130/Route 3, leading to delays. The accident happened on the southbound side over the Occoquan River. As of 5 p.m., 2.5 miles of delays were being reported by the VDOT. The south left shoulder, left lane, and left center lane were closed. The south exit ramp narrows.

One Flown In I-66 Tractor Trailer Crash (Update) One person was flown to the hospital in a tractor trailer crash Tuesday morning, Jan. 30 on I-66 in Prince William County, authorities said. The crash involving a Jeep Cherokee and tractor trailer happened on the westbound side around 7:45 a.m., Virginia State Police said. The Virginia DOT site reported nearly 2.6 miles of delays in the westbound lanes following the crash in Sudley near mile post 49. The west right center lane, right lane, and right shoulder were closed. Traffic delays in the eastbound lanes are approximately 4 miles.

Garbage Truck Overturns In Stafford, Spills Trash On Road: Police A waste trailer rolled over on Wednesday morning, July 6, in Stafford County and caused delays, authorities said.  The truck overturned around 6:30 a.m. on Chatham Heights Road near Kings Highway, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. No one was injured, but the wreck caused garbage to spill onto the road. Deputies closed a portion of Chatham Heights Road as they worked to clean up the mess.  That caused delays for commuters trying to maneuver through that area on Wednesday morning. Stafford County deputies reopened the road just before 11 a.m.
