Summer is coming to a close, schools are reopen, and there is a new curfew being enacted for the youth in Washington, DC. As of Friday, Sept. 1, the "Juvenile Curfew Enforcement Pilot" took effect in the District as officials keep working to curtail the rash of violence that has placed DC in 2023. Hypothermia Alert Activated For DC Area As Temperatures Drop
Mayor Muriel Bowser has issued a hypothermia alert for Washington, D.C. in an effort to help keep residents safe. The alert will become active at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov 19, states Mayor Bowser. A gay couple was attacked on August 7 as two suspects hit them and shouted homophobic slurs in D.C., according to FOX5 DC. At around 5:40 p.m., the young couple from Texas was approached by two suspects who made derogatory comments about their sexual orientation and punched the victims, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
