One Hospitalized With 'Serious Injuries' From Midday Shooting On Busy Alexandria Street: Police
One person was hospitalized in a brazen broad daylight shooting outside of multiple businesses in Alexandria on Friday afternoon, police said. Officers were called shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 to the 3800 block of Mount Vernon Avenue to investigate reports of shots fired in the area. Police say that upon arrival, they found one victim at the scene with a gunshot wound and was rushed to the hospital with what are being described as “serious injuries.” No information about a suspect or suspects has been released by the police. Onetime New York Giants fan favorite Peyton Hillis was hospitalized after a swimming accident in Florida in which he saved two of his kids and two adults from drowning, authorities confirmed. Fairfax Police Officer Airlifted To Hospital After Motorcycle Crash
Lanes were blocked near George Mason University following a motorcycle crash involving a Fairfax police officer, authorities say. The crash happened at Braddock Road and Roanoke Road around 1 p.m., Friday, Dec, 9. The officer involved has been rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, according to Fairfax police. Braddock Road continues to be closed between Roanoke River Road and Route 123. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes of travel as the crash is investigated. Any other injuries in the collision are currently unknown.

Bruised, Unconscious Toddler Found Outside DC Building May Have Been Abused, Report Says
A 2-year-old boy found unconscious outside of a Washington DC apartment may have been physically abused, NBC Washington reports citing authorities and sources. A 911 call was placed around 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, reporting the boy was found outside Trinity Plaza at 21 Atlantic St. SW, the outlet said. A pedestrian was hit by a car in a Fairfax County parking lot on Wednesday, Sept. 21, police said. Sometime before 2:30 p.m., officers arrived at the scene in the lot of 8389 Leesburg Park, where they discovered a woman had been hit by a car, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Fairfax County police have charged an Alexandria man for the fatal shooting of his wife, officials said. On September 4, at around 3:15 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7900 block of Central Park Circle to investigate a shooting, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. A Woodbridge teenager led police on a high-speed chase Monday that ended in a crash and sent two to the hospital, authorities said.
